Description:
This position is located in the Main South Operating Rooms and functions within the University Hospitals and Clinics Patient Care Division, which is accountable for the delivery of nursing services to patients. Patient Care Services is the largest component of the Hospital and Clinics organization and has direct impact on the clinical facilities that support the primary mission of the agency. The Department Director plans, organizes, manages and directs the activities of the hospital department(s). This position has continuous operational authority and responsibility for the accomplishments of the hospital departmental goals and objectives. This position has operational authority and development over in-patient surgery suites in University Hospital. This position establishes and maintains effective relationships with patients, families, physicians, staff, administration, other departments and external agencies to identify expectations, determine variance, jointly identify targets, design or modify processes, and monitor and evaluate the results leading to additional improvement.
Qualifications:
· Current unencumbered Oregon Nurses License and BLS certification.
· Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred or in progress.
· CNOR certification required.
· Previous management experience required with progressive responsibility in personnel management and fiscal / budgetary responsibility.
· Qualified applicants must demonstrate leadership skills, teamwork abilities, and understanding of complex healthcare organizational structures especially in academic organizations.
· Prefer: MSN or MBA. 10 years clinical experience and progressive managerial responsibilities.
