Professional nurse leader/manager responsible for the overall management of a designated unit. The nurse manager is responsible for assessing, planning, directing, and evaluating all nursing care provided in his/her designated unit, continually evaluating desired outcomes and ongoing opportunities for continuous improvement. The scope of care will be to patients of all ages (birth to death). There is a major focus in the adult to elderly age range since this represents the major patient population. The nurse manager must be a positive role model by demonstrating professional practice and behavior and being competent in the clinical area.
