Provides educational in-services for staff and patients. Develops and implements effective programs to improve patient care. Acts as a consultant to assess, plan, implement, evaluate and reassess the care of patients with abdominal stomas, draining wounds/fistulae, pressure ulcers/dermal wounds and incontinence. Is involved with the physical, emotional, and social rehabilitation of patients. Develops care plans for patients in outpatient clinic in collaboration with each patient's physician. Provide the full scope of WOC nursing practice which also includes other components such as education, counseling, research, and administration. Responsible for carrying out the mission, vision, and quality commitment of Houston Healthcare.
