8:00-4:30 Day Temporary, Non-Benefited position needed from mid-November 2009 to mid-February 2010. Monday - Friday 8am-430pm JOB SUMMARY: At the direction of the Managed Care & Regional Operations Manager in the Patient Access Services Department, ensure that the appropriate referrals are completed for outpatient office visits, including certain procedures and inpatient admissions. Perform a wide range of customer service related functions to assist in the overall functional goals of the department. Serve as a liaison between the primary care physician (PCP), staff, health plan specialist, community physicians, and patients to ensure that referral requirements have been met. Ideal candidate would have excellent customer service and telephone skills. Position will have communication with Doctor's Offices. Knowledge of managed care health plans and guidelines helpful. MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Associates degree in secretarial science, or the equivalent in office experience required. Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with insurance plans and computer systems desired. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
