8am - 5pm Day Medication Use and Standards Job Summary: Under the general guidance of the Pharmacy Director, assume responsibility for overseeing assigned pharmacy services and ensuring the Pharmacy provides optimal services on an on-going basis. Plan and evaluate activities to accomplish the departmental mission, vision, and strategic plan. Facilitate the development, implementation, and maintenance of systems which promote desirable patient outcomes through the use of safe, cost effective drug therapies. Serve as a resource to other Pharmacists and health care professionals, as well as address the learning needs of staff. Medication Use and Standards Manager General Duties 1. Provide leadership of Pharmacy EQuIP Team and initiatives 2. In collaboration with other pharmacy managers, provide expertise and review for inventory decisions: SALAD, AcuDose changes, Floor Stock 3. In collaboration with other pharmacy managers review and approval of changes to computer systems - entry information (e.g. standard order sets, formulary additions) 4. Develop processes to assure and monitor compliance with Joint Commission. NHBOP and other regulatory bodies 5. Oversee Automated Dispensing Cabinet use and processes 6. Oversee controlled substance compliance 7. Oversee floor check process 8. FDA recall process 9. Policies and Procedures o Review changes to current policies and procedures for safety best practice. o Review and facilitate changes to current policies to comply with new JC or Safety recommendations 10. Quantros manager for medication errors 11. Participate in departmental error management (e.g. FMEA) 12. Searches committee member (Sentinel event/RCA) 13. Standard order set review committee member 14. Oversee Patient Safety orientation 15. Participate in Quality and Patient Safety subcommittee of PICC 16. Precept Medication Safety rotation for residents and students 17. Provide data support for pharmacy score card and dashboards 18. Participate on Med Safety Subcommittee as a member Pharmacy represent ative for Organizational safety initiatives MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Graduate of an ACPE accredited school of Pharmacy with a minimum of 5 years of health care system experience (of which 3 must be pharmacy supervisory experience), or the equivalent required. PharmD and/or advanced degree (e.g. MS, MBA) preferred. Current NH licensure (or eligible) required. Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimum supervision, and possess the ability to set priorities and make critical decision.
