Nurse Manager Intensive Care Nursery Job

Day JOB SUMMARY: There are two full-time (40 hours) positions available. In conjunction with the Nursing Director, The Nurse Manager position for the Intensive Care Nursery, Inpatient Unit, is to manage day to day operations of the unit. The management duties include patient flow, scheduling oversight of all unit based staff, performance management, and daily monitoring with follow up of clinical, safety , and quality issues. In addition, the Nurse Manager works with the unit based shared governance councils to implement change, develop new programs, and create solutions to enhance the satisfaction of our patients and their families with their daily care needs and to meet the needs of the unit and DHMC goals. The job requires an individual who is positive and creative in their approach to completing their daily work. The unit is fast paced with many changing needs. The work hours are 2-12 hour nights per week with remaining hours during the evening (possibly 3-11 pm, twice per week). The 12-hour nights would be clinical (in charge in the unit) and the remaining hours would be administrative time. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: BSN required. A minimum of 2 years of combined staff nurse in Intensive Care Nursery and leadership experience; or the equivalent required. Understanding and previous experience with Shared Governance preferred. Certifications in Intensvie Care Nursery is preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
