The Team Leader is responsible for occupational therapy and inpatient rehabilitation therapy, and has 24-hour responsibility for patient care and overall departmental operations. This person sets annual goals for the departments and aligns the operational and capital budgets to achieve these goals. The Team Leader ensures quality patient care is delivered consistent with established evidence-based practice and current standards for patient care services. The Team Leader maintains an effective and competent staff, understands educational, recruitment and retention needs for the departments managed. This person exercises sound judgement and use of other resources in identifying issues and resolution of problems. The manager applies both clinical and operational management skills to meet the established quality, patient satisfaction, and financial targets of the unit. This person accomplishes all of the above in collaboration and partnership with nursing, ancillary departments, and physicians.
