The staff Occupational Therapist (OT) evaluates client after impairment, injury, or disease; plans, designs and implements individualized physical therapy treatment programs after referral from a physician Interventions may include therapeutic exercise, functional retraining, use of thermal/electrical modalities, gait training, splinting, and use of various other training and retraining skills. Periodically re-evaluates client to determine effectiveness of interventions and contributes to discharge planning The OT supervises treatment provided by students, technicians, or physical therapist assistants and recommends client care interventions to other members of the health care team to contribute to the client's rehabilitation process The OT delegates and instructs supportive personnel in services to be provided and performs other duties as requested by the manager.
