Physician Assistant (M) Cardiac Surgery Job

Day The Section of Cardiothoracic Surgery is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant to join their practice. The successful candidate will contribute to cardiothoracic surgical-related activities within the Physician's Assistant role. These include, though are not limited to, the completion of preoperative and postoperative clinical duties in conjunction with the house staff and nurse practitioners and first and second assist with intraoperative surgical duties in the operating room under the direction of a staff surgeon. On-call every third day and weekend. This position reports directly to the Division Chief, Cardiac Surgery. Successful completion of AMA approved Class A Physician Assistant Program (2 years academic and field preparation). A minimum of one year of experience in cardiothoracic surgery, or the equivalent is preferred. Ability to work well with others, demonstrate a proper bedside manner and demonstrate technical expertise in the operating room. Superior organizational skills, flexibility and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, often with simultaneous demands.
