RMD Specialist III Patient Access Services Job

Location: Lebanon NH - New Hampshire
Rate: N/A (Permanent) Equivalent to N/A

8:00am - 4:30pm Day JOB SUMMARY: At the direction of the Manager of Managed Care and Regional Operations in the Patient Access Services Department, ensure that the appropriate authorizations are completed for required exams/procedures. Perform a wide range of customer service related functions to assist in the overall functional goals of the department. Using strong verbal and written communication skills, work with various internal and external scheduling departments and insurance carriers to complete precertification for MRI/CT/Nuclear Medicine services. Be familiar with medical terminology, have an understanding of CPT coding and be familiar with third party billing requirements and complete insurance verification and prior approval requirements. Be familiar and comply with the billing and collection policies of Dartmouth-Hitchcock (D-H). Be able to explain D-H structure and relationships to patients and insurers. Assist patient's by obtaining full access to health care benefits and ensure maximum reimbursement to D-H. Communicate with internal and external parties to resolve account issues. MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: High school graduate with a minimum of three years of hospital admissions, billing, pre-admission, or credit work experience required. Previous public contact/customer service, and personal computer experience desired
