EDUCATION EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and licensed to practice. Successful completion of orientation. II. LICENSES, REGISTRATION AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED Must have a current license to practice in the State of Louisiana. III. NATURE AND SCOPE OF POSITION The RN 2 collaborates with the patient, family, and health care team in the formulation of an individualized plan of care and overall outcome goals based on collected data and the patient's age specific needs. The RN 2 works collaboratively to coordinate the delivery of care and is responsible for managing outcomes. Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills, along with the understanding of principles of growth and development to provide appropriate care. Utilizes expertise in assuming the responsibilities for the nursing process for patients with common reoccurring problems on assigned unit. Implements the appropriate care path in order to meet the patient's physical, spiritual, and psycho-social needs for 75f the patients assigned. RN 2 acts as a clinical coach and coordinates care and staffing on the unit level. Patient age groups served may include neonate, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics. Must exhibit critical thinking skills, communication skills, and simple decision making skills. All services will be provided in a professional manner in keeping with the mission of the hospital and with respect for the dignity of the patient unrestricted by considerations of social or economic status, personal attributes or the nature of health problems. Adherence to policies of all regulatory bodies, the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady System and Our Lady of Lourdes is expected. In order to prevent fraud and abuse of Federal and/or State statutes, all duties and actions will be performed within the organizational Corporate Compliance Plan (which includes the Code of Conduct) and the Code of Ethics. Physical demands may include bending, pushing, pulling, lifting equipment of various weights and sizes, and patients of all ages and sizes. May be subject to unpleasant odors and sights. May require wearing of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE). This is a category 1 job and requires tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues.
