Organizes and conducts medically prescribed speech therapy programs under the direct referral of physician. Helps to restore/promote optimal speech, language, swallowing and cognitive functioning The staff member must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate of the age of the patients served on his/her assigned unit. They must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth development of the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status. They must interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the unit’s departmental policies and procedures Basic Education Master’s Degree, AZ State licensure Basic Experience 6 months related; Basic Field-of-Expertise (if applicable) Master’s Degree in speech therapy from an accredited university approved by ASHA
