Rotating shifts, weekends, holidays Day JOB SUMMARY: At the direction of the Pharmacy Supervisor and Pharmacy Manager, perform all duties of the Pharmacy Technician position, as well as other assigned specialized technical responsibilities. Perform assigned duties requiring proficiency in complex sterile techniques and procedures in compounding oral suspensions and topical medications. Maintain knowledge in areas of pharmaceutical distribution, education, preparation, and documentation. Maintain the department’s multiple computer systems located throughout the Medical Center . All functions are performed under the professional direction of a pharmacist. MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Associates degree in a health or related field, with 1 year of relevant pharmacy experience, or the equivalent in education and experience required. Must meet all the expectations of the Pharmacy Technician position. Must have successfully completed chemotherapy training and be eligible for TPN training. Must successfully complete TPN training within one year. CPhT certification required. Computer literacy and knowledge of drug and medical terminology required. Certification in the inspection and use of respirators required within one year of successful completion of chemotherapy training. Previous pharmacy (retail of hospital) work experience desired. Previous computer experience required. Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle pressure situations are essential
